Product Information

This is the late HJ/DJ dagger issued between Circa 1938-1942 and this particular one is dated 1940. These later HJ/DJ daggers no longer had the Blut Und Ehre moto incribed on the blade. The HJ / DJ camp dagger blade is almost 14 cm long, drop forged, steel construction, single edged, nickel/silver plated with full length, including the hilt around 24cm. The blade is in overall very good condition, used, with usual runner marks, some surface staining, but overall very good. Washer is intact. The nickel/silver plated  alloy constructed hilt features a single, up-swept, cross guard arm and a stylized eagle head pommel. The grip is black diamond grooved bakelite with dual, small, dome headed, steel retaining rivets. The obverse grip has an imbedded enameled and silver washed alloy HJ diamond. The HJ diamond features red enamel top and bottom quarters and white enamel side quarters with a central black enamel swastika. The diamond has the correct translucent red enamel with a pebbled field visible underneath and overall is in great, about 95% condition. The dagger comes with it’s original, black painted, magnetic sheet metal scabbard. The scabbard retains about 95% of its original black paint. The front, top edge of the scabbard has a small, dome headed rivet to retain the internal runner and the reverse has a dual, rivetted on, blackened leather belt hanger.  The hanger is secured by two other rivets, with one positioned near the center to hold the leather together and the other positioned near the top edge to secure a horizontal retaining strap with a single snap closure. RZM and maker marked M7/27 for "Puma" and dated 1940.

This was purchased, along with the HJ Winter/Ski Cap, the owner's HJ Buckle and leather belt and the VERY RARE, Special issue Olympic Stag Horn Dagger, given out at Olympic events.

I was very pleased to get the parcel from a German family in a small suburb area outside Munich a few years ago. I was especially pleased when the family also produced the grandfather's 1st pattern Luftwaffe dagger and a few other familt items from the war. I acquired the parcel and have treasured them all for the last few years. The family name will be provide as required, with the original Mein Kampf they were presented with.
